Problem
Customers struggle to compare products and make informed, healthy choices due to limited guidance.
Solution
The Product Comparer offers clear product comparisons and personalized recommendations, motivating users to make conscious and healthier choices quickly and easily.
Design challenge:
"How can we support customers in making healthier and more informed product choices during their shopping journey?"
As the UX designer for this project, my task was to create a seamless and engaging user experience for the Product Comparer application. I focused on designing an interactive module that would make it easy for users to compare products and receive personalized recommendations tailored to their health goals. My role involved understanding the challenges users faced when comparing products and developing a design that would simplify this process, helping users make informed choices more efficiently.
For research, we first conducted a survey to identify user needs. What do people compare products on most? For example, price, ingredients, nutritional values or origin? Which nutritional values do people find most important? And how important do people think it is that the products they buy are healthy? Besides the preliminary research we conducted, usability tests were also carried out with Albert Heijn customers. Based on the results, fitting iterations were made.
I set up a user flow for this project because I wanted to ensure that users could seamlessly navigate through the experience, understanding each step intuitively. By organizing the content and interactions in a logical sequence, I made sure that users could achieve their goals without confusion or frustration.
After refining the design through feedback and testing, I came up with a final design that simplifies product comparison and supports personalised recommendations. Below you can see the final result.
